hi,
i ve been motivated to build a self suficient home on our lovely east coast. and live there aware. i m wondering if anyone knows of any workshops in north jersey or somewhere near by on things like straw bale building. or solar energy. or anything that might help me on my way. the west coast is so full of this stuff but im having trouble finding it here. help? thanx.

i kno you posted this awhile ago but i recently found this place in NYC called the open center ( www.opencenter.org ) and they have a permeculture course starting up in the spring that i am hopeing very much to be apart of .There web site was really exciting for me and i also want to sit in on soem shamanism lectures an the like...
i am hopeing to get a piece of land buy end of 08, k.i.t. :) <3 -

Mon, July 28, 2008 - 8:26 PMHi Tina, I recently attended the Solarfest in Vermont and the Website for it is: www.solarfest.org . The last event I attended at the Solarfest was a Peace Pole Ceremoney. It was very nice. And I met the Editor and founder of the Healthy Hippie Magazine. She is a real SWEETHEART!!!!!!
